Vietnam Airlines has consistently high operational reliability

Dispatch reliability is defined as the percentage of scheduled flights which depart without any mechanical delays or cancellations. Vietnam Airlines has received Airbus’ accreditation thanks to its consistently high operational reliability, starting with the first operation of Airbus A350-900 aircraft in 2015. Over the past year (September 2018 to August 2019), Vietnam Airlines’ operational reliability recorded the most significant growth worldwide, jumping from 99.2 percent to 99.8 percent.

Wide-body aircraft

Dang Ngoc Hoa, Executive Vice President, Vietnam Airlines said: “Airbus A350-900 is among the most modern wide-body aircraft in the world today and has become the backbone of the Vietnam Airlines’ fleet on domestic and international routes.


The Airbus A350-900 fleet’s high operational reliability has been achieved by the carrier’s efforts to improve maintenance capacity and develop high-quality technical human resources, contributing to ensure safe and efficient operation.”

Almost 30 airlines worldwide operate Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with about 280 aircraft currently in service. Vietnam Airlines has 14 Airbus A350-900s, operated on many domestic and international routes including Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, and between Vietnam and Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Western Europe and Australia. The Airbus A350 delivers fuel efficiency and lower emissions to airlines, helping Vietnam Airlines improve its operating capacity and service quality as a Skytrax four star-rated airline for four consecutive years.
