Buyers looking for a prime ski-in, ski-out ski investment in one of France’s flagship high altitude resorts will welcome the launch of the second phase of residential development at the Edenarc 1800 village in Arc 1800, part of Les Arcs in the Paradiski ski area. Called Les Monarques, the off-plan résidence comprises 40 luxury apartments, ranging from one to three-bedroom units, each sold as part of a leaseback scheme.
Owners of one and two-bedroom apartments at Les Monarques, which will be run by experienced operator Odalys Vacances, will be able to choose between three or four weeks’ personal use each year (split between winter and summer). Three-bedroom apartments bring an entitlement of eight weeks a year. A fixed return will be paid to owners as per their leaseback agreement.
The first phase of development at Edenarc 1800, which boasts views of Mont Blanc and is located next to the Chantel ski lifts, has already sold out and the pedestrianised Savoyard-style village is now open. On-site facilities include swimming pools, sauna, Turkish baths, Jacuzzi and fitness centre, as well as a brasserie, bar and grocery store.
Edenarc 1800 is also a short walk from Arc 1800’s new €36-million Mille8 zone, which includes on- and off-slope activities, including snow parks for kids, as well as the year-round Aquafun aquatic centre, with swimming pools and a Spa and fitness centre, a restaurant, seminar rooms and golf simulator. There is also a direct chairlift to Arc 2000.
A central hub
“A testament to its popularity, Les Arcs was ranked the world’s fourth most popular ski resort, in terms of annual visitor numbers, in the 2016 International Report on Snow and Mountain Tourism,” said Julian Walker, director at Skiingproperty.com. “It’s a true year-round resort, with its 27-hole golf course, located next to Edenarc 1800, and of course Mille8, which has helped put Les Arcs on the dual season map. Also, it’s little known that you can reach Les Arcs without travelling at all by road – by taking the TGV into Bourg-St-Maurice and then the 30-minute funicular ride as far as the resort!”
Arc 1800, at an altitude of 1800 metres, is the biggest of four villages that make up Les Arcs. It’s the central hub between the other three villages – Arc 1600, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000. Les Arcs, popular with British skiers and boarders, links with nearby La Plagne to form the huge Paradiski ski area, offering more than 425 kilometres of pistes, accessed by the impressive double-decker Vanoise Express cable car.
Off-plan apartments at Les Monarques at Edenarc 1800 are available through Skiingproperty.com, with prices ranging from €184,000 to €915,000.
