Belas Clube de Campo in Portugal is an established, thriving community of 800 families. The original Master Plan established a variety of single family, townhouses and low-rise apartments in a low-density community with many open spaces, which comprises a championship golf course and clubhouse, sports and leisure facilities and a variety of services.
Set in a privileged location, it is within a large area (2,000 hectares) of unspoiled natural parkland but most surprisingly it is only 20 minutes’ drive from downtown Lisbon and 20 minutes from the beaches of Cascais and Estoril, the historical town of Sintra and Lisbon Airport, all of which are directly accessible via an excellent network of modern roads.
The new phase at Belas is named Lisbon Green Valley (for which the layout was based on a plan by renowned American architect, Robert A. M. Stern) and offers a generous mix of well-appointed residences, combined with the very real possibility of living in nature, yet with the first class facilities of a 5-star holiday resort and within easy access of the luxury shopping and restaurants of modern Lisbon.
It consists of modern architecture with state-of-the-art features, plus a price range of €500,000 to around €1 million euros and the assurance of quality and potential capital appreciation from the Andre Jordan Group, developers of Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura XXI in the Algarve.
Pedestrian trails have been developed among golf fairways and the natural reserve area of Belas Country Club, extending to over 140 hectares with protected fauna and flora. There are extensive hiking trails, routes for jogging and cycling. There are tracks in the woods for athletics and mountain biking.
The purpose-built leisure club offers a complete wellness programme and SPA managed by Active Life. The building of 1,500m2 houses a gym fully equipped by Technogym, a group class studio, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, rest area, three SPA rooms and a therapeutic room. On hand there’s a large team of professional trainers, teachers, therapists, an osteopath, a nutritionist and a psychologist to cater for all residents’ sporting, fitness, spa, health and well-being needs.
Vibrant European capital
“After many decades as the main buyers in the Algarve region, British expatriates have discovered that the Greater Lisbon area has similar climatic conditions to the south of Portugal, but also with the attractions and accessibility of a historic but vibrant European capital, combined with very advantageous cost of living conditions,” comments Sales Director Bruno Martins. He adds: “Very few major cities benefit from urban, beach and hillside living opportunities within under 30 minutes range of excellent communications.”
The Portuguese cherish their 600-year alliance with Great Britain and the ‘Portuguese Style’ of discrete elegance and comfort is wholly compatible with the British temperament. On the financial front there are the valuable attractions of the non-habitual resident status and the tax exemption for retirement pay.
