Voted recently by the Sunday Times newspaper as the best place in the world to live, the Balearic island of Mallorca attracts many thousands of visitors each year to enjoy its relaxed lifestyle, superb beaches and highly rated wines.
Located in the heart of the island, the town of Binissalem is known as one of the island’s major wine growing centres. Much loved by visitors wishing to explore the authentic and unspoiled heart of the island, the attractive town of Binissalem is still only a twenty minute drive from all the available delights of Palma, while beaches around the coast can be reached within an easy half hour drive.
Situated in a prime position on the town’s leafy main square is a 19th century wine grower´s Mansion, now home to an 18-bed hotel. With outbuildings dating back to the 9th century surrounding a tranquil inner courtyard the building, listed with the island’s ´Belles Artes´ architectural preservation council was carefully and lovingly converted and restored and opened as a Four Star ´Hotel Residencial´ in 1989. It became one of the first, independent quality 4-star B&B hotels on the island and was run for 21 years by its creators.
Heart of the island
The hotel earned a wide reputation for charm, style, comfort and exceptional service. Among many other press accolades and recommendations received over the years, Alistair Sawday named it in his guide as one of his top six favourite places to stay in the whole of Spain.
The accommodation comprises four full suites, one with two bedrooms and a huge elegant drawing room, and three with large double bedrooms, bath and separate sitting room. In addition, there are three Junior Suites, five Deluxe Bedrooms and five Superior Bedrooms, all with bathrooms en-suite. There is a pretty breakfast room with an adjoining sunny terrace, entrance hall, bar and sitting rooms, interior swimming pool, courtyard and patio and a small office.
As well as being home for individual visitors, the Hotel has been a natural focus for groups wanting to enjoy wine and food tours, walking, golfing and painting. The hotel has also hosted many business and small corporate retreats and all manner of family reunions, anniversary celebrations and full weddings.
An existing Licence
For personal health reasons, a sale is now sought with the utmost urgency for this exceptional property before it becomes subject to liquidation. Time is of the essence if the current Licensing is to be renewed before it expires in June 2015. Those familiar with the hospitality industry in Spain will know that it is far easier to continue with an existing Licence than to apply for a new one.
Because of the time limitations, the owners are seeking only serious enquiries from a purchaser/s who can offer financial qualification as a predominantly cash buyer and who is willing to move forward promptly with the legal aspects of the sale. A very significant discount is offered on the official valuation of the property for swift completion of the purchase.
The official valuation is €2.3 million but all reasonable offers will be considered.
